    Help identify missing part

So each side of the rad/aux fan has a plastic duct. The passenger side has the round hole for the thermo switch to mount. Each of the ducts have two mounting points facing the ground. I am missing whatever mounts to those points, I am guessing it is some kind of radiator cover/baffle.

Anyone have a picture and part number for an S52?

Here is a pic of the pass. side baffle and where the missing part would mount to. TIA

Here are the baffles in place in a pic from Randy, I think the crooked pc, I think that is what I am missing.

That "scoop" slips in between the radiator and shroud, preventing air from ducking under the radiator, instead of going through it.

An oil cooler occupies much of the same space__you can't have both.

    - - - Updated - - -

The panel between the bumper and radiator attaches at those four (4) points, plus a steel strap at the outboard/rear each side.

I'm looking for a PN. I modded the two sides to fit perfectly around the intercooler brackets. Am I correct that its the part thats crooked in your picture?

I don't see that part on RealOEM. I took mine out when I swapped in an S54 radiator. Since that radiator has oil cooler supports, it doesn't allow the baffle to fit properly. I just left it out and it's been running fine for the past 7-8 years.

I dont see it on real OEM either, thats why I am confused.

I did buy part #2 in the diagram. I am wondering if that is an updated part? It doesn't have any screw holes that line up with the two side baffles though.

It is not "shown" on plate 51-2397, but it is listed as item #15 (51 71 2 496 714)

I saw that one, but it didn't look right. Might just be the way they drew it.

Yeah, I didnt even think that was right either. I though Randy you said that part was for an S54 and you arent able to get it to work with an S52.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Part 15 is $130, ouch.

Maybe check if someone has a used one.

Other way around. My S52 came with it, but when I put in an S54 radiator, the part no longer fit.

I thought you were doing an oil cooler setup; I took that part number directly off a crooked part.

Eventually. I'd rather have everything I'm meant to now and figure out the oil cooler later.

My part#2 does have screw holes that line up with the baffle:

My #2 is brand new and if you look, the holes are not the same as yours. Looks like only one pair of holes lines up. Maybe this is a running change and I am fine just using this part as is.

I don't know, the holes look awfully close to being the same to me.

They are, maybe just made one set bigger. I will see how everything fits together soon.

Could be a '98 issue. There are a number of small trim items that if ordered now, don't match the original parts that come off the car. Quiet design revisions where the part number is the same, but the part is different. The rear wheel "aero ducts" are like this.

Yep. Often referred to as a "running change".

That was done for the 01/02s, to secure the pre-oil cooler duct (the duct stays in place when that lower panel is removed; the duct is attached to the lower flange on the LH/RH side pnls).

You have the link to my gallery (63,490 images) I don't know why you couldn't find it yourself...

A modified pre oil cooler duct on an S-54 with a VFE air/water/air intercooled s/c, but a head on view of how it mounts.

LOL, I looked through 265 pages of pictures on the Estoril Blue S52 car(a great help by the way).

My side panels were ripped up and using the OEM part number the part was super expensive. An alternate PN was recommended which was much cheaper but had no hole for the thermo switch(what does that even do?). I made the hole and also found the new part did not have the upper flap which met up with the metal radiator shroud. So I trimmed that off the original pc and used a couple of screws and nuts. I am sure it would have been fine without it.
