Hi. I have an E36 325i 1993 sedan US Spec. The passenger side rear window goes down but won't go up using the door switch but it does using the switch in the front console (next to the shifter). I checked the switch with a multimeter and it's working fine as well as the motor. What could it be?
The switches can be hard to check with a multimeter. The window switches for the one touch have a timing between which circuit makes first so the controller knows whether you are going up or down. Just a heads up that they aren't a simple switch. Look at the diagrams in the ETM and you will see the dual switch circuit inside of it. I had a front switch (green back) that down and auto down worked but it would not go up.
Try the window switch from the other side of the car and see if it works then. Then you will know whether it is the switch or the wiring.

I tried with a different switch (don't know if it worked before) and what I check with the multimeter is only the continuity of the circuit inside the switch and according to the wiring diagram in the Bentley service manual. My left window is working so I'll try it later. Thanks for the advice.
