I've been bringing my 86 five speed back to life. Lots of things. Thanks all for help. New problem, while driving pushed clutch in and it stuck to the floor. After a few moments was able to pull it up and it worked perfectly. Happened again. Fluid is full and good. Once back up it works normal. Is there someplace the linkage can hang up.
Probably a clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. Not too bad of a job to replace them.
A good probability is the peddle bracket could be cracked. A guy on Mye28 makes a beautiful bolt in reinforcement for the post 83 peddle brackets.

There's a pedal helper spring up under the dash also.
Thanks. Have some places to look. Probably not the cylinders as there is no leak. When it gets stuck on the floor it feels as something grabbed it. When released it pops up as normal and the works, but I'll check the spring.
There is a spring to help pull it down or help you "push" the pedal in. This is what you are experiencing when you say it feels as if something is grabbing it. A little past halfway, the "assist" spring helps pull the pedal down to help counteract the pressure plate force. You also have a small return spring as well to help pull it back up. If your pedal goes to the floor and can't come back up without you helping it, then it is more likely a little air in the system. As mentioned by others, Do a good bleeding first then suspect either the master or slave cylinder is worn. Worn seals in either can allow a little fluid bypass the piston seal reducing the effort but allowing it to stick at the pushed position.

The master cylinder can leak fluid internally, and not show any fluid loss, and the typical sysmptoms match what you've described. The slave will leak fluid externally, but you'll often have to pull it from the bellhousing to see the leak. And, check the springs, and this pedal bracket reinforcement is highly recommended:
