4x100 to 5x120 adapters. WTB, maybe...

Does anybody have any experience with using adapters to go to five lug wheels on our E21s? Stories? Any brands to stay away from?
I've always figured that if you need adapters you've got the wrong wheels but I really want to try these 5x120 wheels I've got.
I see two different types of adapters, one using an eccentric lug and another type using a real thin spacing between holes. Both crazy expensive!
Got any you liked but you're done with that you want to sell? Best price I found out there is a new set from Bavzilla (eccentric stud style) for 250 bucks. I'm not sure I want to try those 5 lug wheels that bad!

I think it cannot be done as the bolt patterns interfere with one another. Also I am not a fan of adapters, I have seen plenty fail.

ECS Sell them. They aren't cheap, but it can be done.

it's a 2 piece design, you bolt the black piece to the hub and then use the 2 screws to secure the adapter to that. The other 3 go through the adpater/spacer like normal. One of the guys on the local VW club uses this type with no ill effect..

There is another style of these adapters I've seen out there, not sure which is better. As for good or bad brands, this spacer is not likely being made by anybody but capable machine machine shops. I highly doubt due to the complexity of this adapter, that many if any at all, are coming out of low quality Chinese suppliers.

The 42 Draft Designs adapters are pretty nice, I wouldn't have any issues running them. The design is a slight bit of a pain to install but it's very solid once installed.
