    88 E24 BMW 635csi electrical/computer questions.

I'm diagnosing the transmission gear light in my car and I have a few very important questions now that I am following the ETM guide to the letter.

Question1: What is the computer located under the shroud by the hood, on the passenger side. It looks like an ECU, is it the ABS controller? It has a 35 pin like the TCU and older motronic 1.0 boxes.

Question2: the ETM tells me to check voltages off a running ECU at pins 10, 11, and 21. Unfortunately there's no wires at 10 and 21! Where in the ETM can I see a layout of all the wires? Should I compare to the 87 ETM?

This car's light turns on when I go to KPII and stays on when I start the car. First test showed the fuel rate gauge (signal comes out of the ECU if im not mistaken) was sending a low voltage to the TCU. A new ECU is in the mail. I am sure to have loads of questions, I'll add them here later. If anyone has questions or answers please post here! Thank you.

Edit: I looked at the wiring diagrams and have realized that it must have been a typo in the ETM, they forgot to update the correct pin numbers when they upgraded from 35 to 55 pin ECUs. 11, 21 correspond to 32, 6. They are the current fuel rate and engine speed output.
