    Key Fob Range

Does anyone else have a pathetically short range on their keyless entry key fob? I'd like to improve the range with either a better receiver or a different key fob. Any suggestions?

Hello - has this always been the case or has the range decreased after some time? Have you replaced the battery?

I have replaced the battery and no change. I purchased the car 5.5 months ago. It is a 2003 Z4 Roadster.

It has been this way as long as I have owned the car. One of two fobs has barely been used and still looks new. Both seem to have the same range.

If both seem to have the same issue, I would guess that it's the module/receiver - I can't imagine both keys happen to be faulty..

I have a 08' 135i and am guessing that I've been able to use it at least 100+ feet

I know this may sound strange,
but placing the end of the key touching your chin,
Increases the range! Try it, you'll see.
