When the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is replaced, the new unit must be coded (programmed) to the car.
INPA cannot do this.
I replaced my SAS myself several years ago but I did not have the software to code it to the car so I had to take it to a independent BMW garage.
The software you normally use is SSS/Progman (older software) or Rheingold P (the newest). Both are BMW software and can be found on the internet. This is not plug and play. You have to have some knowledge.
I now have both Rheingold D (diagnostic) and Rheingold P (programming). The Rheingold install is around 260gig installed.
You all never seem to have enough time to do the job properly the first time, but you always seem to find the time to do it a second time......... ME
