Hello all!
New member here and heard great things from a few friends of mine.
I searched for this but nothing came up for sorry if this was posted already.
Past 2-3 weeks my horn hasn't been working properly. It sounds like it's clogged and not giving the full umph. Anyone else have an issue like this or know how I can get it fixed?
I have a 2013 328i xDrive.
Thanks.
Denny
You likely need a new horn. But first, find the horn and measure the voltage at the horn when the horn button is pushed.
Go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of the car's vehicle ID #. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Look in the vehicle electrical system section.
The horn isn't going to be easy to reach; it lives under the bumper skin somewhere, and you'll need to at least remove the underpanels, likely the inner fenderwell on one side. And then, you could likely spray WD 40, or a similar light oil, or Deep Creep, etc, into the horns (there are 2 of them). MAYBE this will fix it....maybe not. Really, given the amount of work it requires to get there, you should probably just order two new horns (high and low tones), and swap them in.
