Seats will not go back or forward

My Error...post should have read "Seats will not go up or down". Both seats are stuck in the highest position. I pulled my seats and tried this suggestion (see post #7) but I don't know if it will work.....https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...c+seat+problem It appeared to me the aluminum housing rotated freely on the threaded spindle before trying this method. I don't think I accomplished anything. Before I put the seats back into the car, is there anyone who has had this problem and resolved it a different way? BTW how did both passenger & drivers seat have this problem..... at the same time? I checked the fuse but it appeared to be ok. Had it been the fuse, the seats would not have worked at all. Open for some help.

In your case, perhaps both seats are stuck because both got run up to the top and jammed there.
Otherwise, there are several other threads on the up/down problem that I could post.

I used the link in my own thread to resolve my problem....didn't think it worked but it surely did. Seats go up and down.and back and forth....just another bit of information about my Z....So I recommend this method.
