Strange clicking noise after timing chain replacement

Hey guys, I'm new here on this forum. I hope you are able to help me with my issue.

I have a E39 535i V8 (Europe-only model). I've had my timing chain + guides, vanos and rod bearings replaced a month ago. One week after the repairs, this sound occurred:

Has anyone had this noise before? My guess was something camshaft/cam related.

Hard to tell where it's coming from. Open the hood and look around.
Possibly an exhaust leak??
Take it back to the shop that lightened your wallet.

Yikes...sounds internal, but tough to tell with the hood closed.

Got it fixed. The shop I went to adjusted the timing on bank 2 so badly that the DME shut off the vanos so the vanos couldn't adjust the camshaft and damage the valves.
Got it all paid by warranty, by the way. The car runs perfectly now.
