Hello all,
I'm about to pull the injectors on my high compression euro engined m30 to send them to Witchhunter for refurb.
Before I do, does anyone have any other suggestions on an alternative set-up? Would m30/b35 injectors be a better choice? I have a spare set of those in my parts bin.
Thanks.
That's a good plan, matched injectors are a good thing to have.
I'm currently trying out a complete B35 setup on my Euro B34 including stock injectors and DME. It ran very well until my recent stalling/rough idle/1222 code troubles. I haven't put enough miles on it to make any firm recommendations yet.
I've also picked up a set of Bosch 4-hole disc-type injectors to test out. PN 1 280 155 746, 200cc@3 BAR. From what I've gathered, they're a direct fit: high impedance, square plug, slots for fuel rail retaining clips. They're also very common & cheap; installed in many transverse-engined non-turbo Volvos from the late 90s until the mid-00s.
I had one of my original "150,000 mile" injectors go TU. Talking to a fellow in the local club here, he said look at the Bosch type 3 injectors. Jeep 4 Liter, Mustang, and many others. I picked up a full set of 19-21 LBS 4 holes, oh my goodness what a difference. Not sure about performance, but those new injectors make the car run so much smoother. Original single nozzles may have done the same thing compared to the old gunked up ones but I sure like the way they worked out.

Thanks SprCpe. I just purchased the same injectors. Hoping I'll get similar results.
My '85 Shark got about 10% better highway fuel economy, plus better idle and throttle response with Bosch/Mustang 4 hole injectors, plug and play. These can be found at any junkyard in Ford Mustang, Crown Vic, etc. I paid $30 for a set of 6 from a guy on MyE28.com.
Just pulled out the fuel rail to install my new Generation III Bosch Mustang injectors. I noticed that the cold start valve fuel line nipple on the fuel rail is plugged with a very factory looking red flush-mounted plug.
Is there any reason why my euro engine would have a disabled cold start valve? The valve is still in place with its fuel lines and electrical connection to the sensor on the thermo housing.
I've always had to depress the accelerator pedal a few inches to start the car, but it never fails to start immediately upon the engagement of the starter motor. I'm inclined to leave it as is.
Just a WAG, but I wonder if it was done to pass federal emissions when it came in country? Is it something that you can see easily or did you have to tear into the rail to see it?
Just a guess.

Saw it when I removed the rail. It's the fuel nipple that's on the underside of the rail.
Bosch Mustang Generation III injectors installed. Smoother idle and acceleration yet to determine mpg change.
