I have an e46 and the problem is that when I turn the ignition on the front headlights and rear lights turn on but only the ones in the boot door and while they stay on the indicators and hazard lights won't work. Normally the lights turn off after a few seconds and it's all fine but now it's doing it while I'm driving and only stopping the car and waiting 10 minutes clears it. Any ideas? Sometimes the fog lights will also flash for a couple of times when the car is locked every now and then.
Thanks in advance
Scott

Welcome to the Forum!
I would connect into the LCM (Light Control Module) to see what is going on. For that you will need INPA or take it to a Garage to get scanned. The other thing you can do is check the fuse panel in the glove box to ensure all LCM or lights fuses are good.

yup, agreed - when i've run into strange behavior with lights on an e46 talking to the LCM becomes key.
not too long ago had a friends e46 that would display fast blink problems on the left turn signal. checked bulbs, wiring, voltage, etc. then checked the LCM using INPA and it became obvious the problem was the LCM. replaced/coded a new one to the car and problem fixed....
