You can either tack on tabs to the ebrake metal surround or drill in a bracket. Nothing wild.

Both of those are more than I'm willing to go through just to mount the piece. Add to that, the front part wont fit flush against the shifter surround console piece unless u cut the bottom front edge of the E28 console or modify the E21 console to 'lock' in with it.

TBH, I'm not all that interested in following up with this in my E21 now.. especially since the vinyl of the center console doesnt match the plastic finish of the E28 console.. I'll be posting it for sale soon.
