    Selling my 87 M6

I would really like to pass this car along to a fellow enthusiast. The 911 has been a dream car and I have an 89 325iX 5-speed that will keep BMW passion running through my veins.

This is an honest M6. I have given it a lot of attention. I am open to reasonable offers but, am not forced to sell.

msgdhorn@yahoo.com or text me at 774-239-4767. If serious we can of course talk on the phone.

I could use any input on value. I am not sure what a nice M6 will bring. I am in no hurry to sell but, I do not want to sit on the car for months and months either. I initially listed it at $29,500 and have since reduced it to $24,500 thinking that this is a much more fare price that would see it move quicker.

    Thoughts?

Too Low, too small a market

I think your sole issue is marketing the car properly. Bring a Trailer gets you your best audience. Hemings (if that's the name, someone help me) and perhaps a listing this evening on Ebay, Sunday to Sunday. Based on today's prices that I've seen, you are a bit low and you'll likely get your 29 on BAT or Ebay in no time. Worcester for one is way too small a market, but perhaps it does show up under all Boston listings. I also have a sense a few higher ended brokers in your immediate area will buy the car for your 24 price. I would if timing were a little better.

+1 on a BAT listing, but you'll need more pics for the best price. Get some of the underside, and some additional interior pics (which on your car is a major strong point). Your current listed price seems too low to me, and I'd be wary of flippers. It's too nice a car for that, and if you're not in a hurry, BAT might get you the right enthusiast to take over your care.

+1 on Bring A Trailer. Hemmings Motor News also good, lots of enthusiasts there. Very nice example you have there. if it's as good mechanically as it looks, you should get $29k no prob. I've seen M6's sell on eBay, but I wouldn't. Wish my '87 635 was as mint. But she's a daily driver

I took a look at Bring A Trailer and some of the other adds for M6s for sale and that does look like a good route to take. I also think it would be worth the time and money to have some good quality photos taken that really show off the car.

Totally worth spending some money on high quality pics, you will recoup your money plus some. BAT doesn't like to list cars that are for sale anywhere else, so you might want to get rid of the CL ad. For sure BAT is the way to go. I'm going to put a car out there at the end of the summer.

I am working on getting some professional pictures taken and then I will list it in BAT and remove the CL add.

In the mean time I have reduced the price to $21,000 on CL. I would love to sell it to a forum member. If it doesn't sell on CL then it will go on BAT after getting the pictures taken.

Dave, the demand for these cars locally is quite low as the one I bought was on CL for many months, asked 16K then offered to me for 12k. I think that the BMW community in Ma has what they want so going outside Ma is the way to go.

I assumed that the CL add would not generate any local interest but, wanted to at least get an add published to have something to link to here and on BigCoupe.com. I also was thinking if people used a search engine like Auto Tempest it would get some exposure.
