Actually have a few options but think H&R springs, bilstein sports front and re valved HD (or a pr of Spax sport adjustable) in rear for this car. maybe a rear sway bar if I get motivated to fab it in.

Car is going into the muffler shop, get rid of those danm nuclear reactors- Pulled a pr of B35 manifolds off a car this weekend, fab some down tubes and run dual 02 sensors, one for the motronic upgrade and the other for a wide band.
Not sure about a cat as the car originally was cat delete- see how far I get with that come next time smog comes up...

Exhaust almost done but car is driving-

I pulled the reactors off (what a pain in the ass!) and the filter, amazing how much space they took up- got the B35 manifolds on with no issue and rolled the car next door, turns out it was going to be easier, AND cheaper to use the down pipes I pulled off the e32. The fitment was really good and made it easier on the wallet... Ran a Y pipe ( two 02 bungs) into a 2.5" pipe and am running a Magnaflow muffler in the center location and only a rear muffler (that I got from a member on mye28- his car is pretty popular there) , the tips I wanted hadn't come in and the tech needed the lift so it's another trip back to him.

The car is loud, maybe too loud for my taste but the rear muffler is dumping under the car still and I think when the tips arrive sound will exit slightly past the rear bumper, right now they are several inches behind the rear bumper and filling the rear valance with sound. If it's still too loud, I'll put in a resonator, somewhere...

the car seems to rev much more freely, and now has a snappy throttle, I was actually playing around with plugs and plug gap to see how that affected the revving and there was a noticeable differencein plug gaps. I'll leave it alone till the tips are on next week, then go from there.

Also,.... The weight difference from the factory exhaust and the new exhaust (less the manifolds) is extreme! I went to grab the old unit (still in 1 piece) and was amazed at the weight, btw, if anyone wants it let me know soon, it's going to get scrapped soon, it's still in good / decent condition and you'll need a truck.

    Looks great!
Have you considered a heat shield where the pipe comes near the axle inner boot?

Yeah, as usual a good eye on your part.

The e-brake cable rubber, and the axle boot both are pretty close. I'll have the exhaust lowered a little in those areas and shield it off, probably wrap it for now till I have time to figure out a shield for those two areas.

Like the way the car has changed with the exhaust, pulls much better and much more responsive to throttle inputs even under normal driving.

Got the car back today, it's awesome! Has a great throaty sound at idle that's absolutly non offensive but sounds good, and off idle you can hear the exhaust but more of the motor as it's running up the RPMs, feels so nice compared to what it was.

Put a little time in on the car today, removed the air pump and hoses- before and after shots

    733i_4.jpgIMG_20170730_165725.jpg

Also, got around to taking care of something that was really bothering me, again before and after- BMW part is NLA, but Mercedes stash came through for me!
    IMG_20170730_171157.jpgIMG_20170730_171718.jpg

Then found this, upper radiator hose neck. Fighting some of the lower bolts on the air pump, my elbow pressed against the upper rad iator hose, felt funny so after pulling the air pump I pulled the hose, on both ends to make sure nothing got down any further. Bandaid repair, hunt for a raditor is on...

Looks great! I've always wondered why they routed the exhaust like that on the early cars but changed it on late. I like since it leaves the DS easy access. Did you run a 4x9 front & 5x8 rear single in /dual out? Chambered or straight thru?

Yeah, not sure also why the routing was like that but it makes the drive line way accessable. I was able to move it in towards the center some so not that visable from the side, wasn't fond of that original look as the old pipes were very visable. Running a medium magnaflow (size limit) into a resonator then out to a rear muffler (D Unit- his Vibrent muffler, single in, 2 out) using 2.5" piping. Really made a difference, I can keep the car in higher gear and not have to downshift when traffic slows or on inclines if speed is under 50mph, just ease back on throttle and it pick up speed easily.

Looking good man. For my old e24's I found blind plugs at ACE that fit the hockey sticks perfectly.

I think by hockey sticks he means the black trim pieces that curve down around the antenna. There are 2 screws in there that came wtih plugs from the factory, look at your first antenna pic with the busted grommet.
When I met you at the South Sac yard that day I pulled 2 of those plugs off that car. :-)

Ahh, I know where they go but didn't know they originally had plugs in there... Clear now, I'll be on the lookout for them.

So yesterday I see this... Looks like new windshield/ chrome trim and a full detail in the future, some light to medium scratches on hood and nose, hopefully rub out.
