Same Pads All Around, or F/R Torque Split?

For the past number of years I have run the same pads F/R on my 99 M3 and 98 M3 on track. I've been through PFC06s, CL RC6Es, and finally two years on DTC60s.

On the DTC60s my fronts wear at almost exactly 2x the rate of the rears. To me this means the rears are not doing their fair share of the work. I know many folks use a 60/70 split to make the rears contribute more. What is the consensus on this? Occasionally I feel like I get into ABS sooner than I should and I wonder if it has something to do with the fronts getting overworked.

For folks who have gone from a 60/60 split to the 60/70 what are you experiences on pad wear and braking stability?

My rears will need to be replaced after the next track weekend so I am wondering if I should check out some 70s.

The fronts SHOULD be doing more work than the rears due to breaking forces shifting weight (thus friction) forward. I vote to stay the same as i have been fighting too much rear bias and breaking is DRAMATICALLY decreased, let alone the constant feeling of instability. I went to a 70F 60R setup and i can promise you it feels like the car is dropping an anchor (not saying you should go this route if you aren't having issues).

What's the cause of your bias problem?

Think mine is mainly attributed to ride height. Once i shifted the brake bias forward, maximum breaking intensity ensued!

I personally run square pad compound because I can adjust bias with my prop valve and I run the same calipers front and rear which allows me to run my rear pads if my fronts get low during a track day.
