Well, I looked through Pelican's articles...could find a how to. I already have the support bar for the engine; however, the subframe is way different from an E36/E46. Any ideas as to how? It's becoming a common problem to replace the gasket on these cars. The car is a 328i.
Hello - I would grab a repair manual. It will have the procedure, special tools and torque specs. We're now carrying Bentley service manuals that are the definitive workshop manual and some of the most comprehensive. I've attached a link below if you're interested. Thanks for responding...I already have the manual...I was looking feedback for as we all know there are procedures missing from the manual that can only gain form experience...so far I have seen two approaches, take down just the subframe or take down the subframe with the steering knuckle.
Here is the second approach mentioned above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB35_BV1gtc
I wouldn't even consider doing this job without a vehicle lift, and a pole screw jack to assist with raising and lowering the subframe.
