Gave the dealer the serial number from the display and was given the code 66161 but it didn't work. Waited hour for it to unlock and tried 3x again. Took it to dealer and they tried nine times through three resets. They then told me it can't be done and I need a new radio. It worked fine before battery replacement.
I removed the radio and copied this info...
BMW Business CD
6512 - 6 909 884
BP0273 1 9960129 (serial number)
FD441 Index 44
7 640 272 342 (part number)
Please Help
Hi,
Take it back to the dealer and have them sort the issue. If they insist it's a new radio and that you insist it worked prior to battery replacement, ask them to go 50/50 on the cost of a new OEM unit. If that's too much, buy an aftermarket unit and agree with them a percentage they'll contribute towards it.
Cheers, Dennis!
Thanks Dennis
A friend told me to go see a vintage service place and that they may have better knowledge about them. If they can't fix it then I guess I'll order something through Crutchfield.
Hi,
Good luck, there might be such places nowadays, but many such service shops and electronics repair places stopped servicing head units from the late 80s and early to mid 90's long ago.
Cheers, Dennis!
