What do you guys think Alonso will do next year?
- Stay with McLaren?
- Move to Williams?
- Move to IndyCar?
- Take a sabbatical?
- Something else?

Move to Williams
Alonso has already given credit to Merc domination for that thug Hamilton's pole and win totals. Here's hoping he joins the heathen Hamilton.

While the chances are pretty much nil, I'd love to see Alonso at Merc. The entertainment value of pairing him with Hamilgram would be worth the price of admission.
I don't think Williams can afford him.
The Williams car isn't anything to write home about. It's lackluster even midfield.
Williams are not a true works team in that they are an engine customer.
The only way I could see Alonso in Williams is if papa Stroll pays an exorbitant salary. It would have to be stratospheric though. But I doubt it because of reasons above. Alonso has stated over and over again that he will only stay in F1 if he fight for championships - and williams won't give him that.
Either he'll stay with McLaren (Zack Brown needs an ex-WC for sponsorship deals and Honda have pretty much paid and demand Alonso) in F1 or move into Indy with McLaren and Honda where he'll be able to fight for titles/podiums.
Bottas' contract has been extended for another year at Merc.
Will make one tonight.
It's a strange thing now with STR getting Honda PUs - immediately - and Renault saying to RBR that you cannot have your cake and eat it (they want Renault next year with Honda the year after) so Renault have pulled their engine deal with RBR next year.
RBR is now making noise again indicating that the team is for sale and if it doesn't sell they'll pull out of F1 as soon as their contract with FIA is over (2019/2020).
So RBR with Honda PUs next year - as with STR.
Max and Danny must be over the moon with this news. Danny contract is up end of next year - I think that's why Merc signed Bottas for another year only. Meanwhile IIRC Max's contract is only up end of 2019. But Kimi's contract is also up end of next year, again. So it could be that Danny moves to Ferrari or Merc. Merc has the funding and the edge in PU but man - driving for Ferrari is its own panache.
Back to this year: Jolyon is out, Sainz with Renault, and Gasly to STR. Doesn't leave much for Alonso next year. McLaren with Renault power. I don't know if Alonso will stick with McLaren because of this. It's possible they could fight for podiums at a select few tracks that the Renault power train likes but will it be enough for Alonso. With RBR getting Honda power I think they won't be contending for podiums so McLaren will probably be behind Merc and Ferrari next year. Podiums are possible. It may be enough for Alonso.

Interesting attempt:
https://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2017/...opments-in-f1/Carlos Sainz will switch to Renault, although they tried their luck at the 11th hour in the negotiations, asking for Daniel Ricciardo to transfer to the works Renault team. That was rejected and Sainz is the one making the move, as originally planned.

hamilton is now a vegan - has been for a week. He also thinks about Senna and it's like Senna is talking to him. Should we be worried?
Don't care whether he's a carnivorous or herbivorous.
Saw that on the feed today. I swear I want to like the guy but I just can't get around the insufferable celebrity garbage and insincerity.
Another interesting Hamsandwich tidbit: I honestly think he's just about the only driver in the F1 onboard compilations that I haven't heard cuss. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I'd suspect selective editing on the part of the British press....

It's my understanding that it used to be common practice for drivers to randomly insert words inappropriate for television so as to avoid having the message broadcasted. Not sure if that's still the case since each team has the capability to easily monitor transmissions from other teams, but he's no doubt keeping it clean to get air time. Because famous.
Hamilton's radio traffic is 50% for the pit wall and 50% for the television feed. The latter feeds are easily identifiable because they have near zero actual value to the pit wall. He might as well be reciting poetry, in some cases.

Everything he says lacks sincerity.

Yeah, love it when the engineers figure a way around the rules.
Also RBR will be rebranded with Aston Martin next year..... Great to see AM in F1.
