My 5 series boot just won't open. I have used the button by the drivers seat, key as well as manual key. Any ideas what I can do.
Tell us the model and built year, BMW 5 series is not enough. Sedan or Touring? Then I will move it to one of the 5 series subforums.

Thanks. It's a sedan
I assume it is an E60, as E12, 28,34, 39 probably do not have the button by driver seat, so I will move it to E60 forum.

I would try some wd-40 on the trunk key hole and let it sit for at least 15 min. Then try again to see if you can manually unlock the trunk.
KaviG - what position is the key hole in? Horizontal or vertical?
Horizontal puts the trunk into "valet" mode, where electronic releases won't work.
Does the key turn in the trunk at all?
