I experienced a misfire in cylinder 3 this morning. Went to purchase new packs but auto store only had one on hand. So I purchased it replaced it and all is good. I'm going to order new coil packs and plugs. Any suggestion on brand and anyone know the gap for spark plugs??

Well I ordered a set of bosh coils from Amazon for 135 bucks with a 2 year warranty. Not bad considering the other day I had to buy the only one the parts store had for 65 bucks. But I will take that one back out and keep on hand for emergency use lol

Now I'm just wondering what kind of plugs I should go with.

The product number is Both Bosch and NGK make decent spark plugs. You will get arguments in favour of either from various parties. The best thing is to look at which brand you've been driving with - assuming that you were happy with them, and stick with that brand. Just make sure to get a 'high power' version.
NGK high power
Bosch high power

I ordered a set of Bosch coil packs from Amazon for $136. Not bad considering I paid $65 for the only one the parts store had the other day. And the Bosch ones come with a 2 year warranty. Now I just have to go get the spark plugs and change everything out when the packs come in....

Ok so help me out here.. my Bosch coil packs came in today. I changed them all out made sure plugs where good and tight.. I start the car up and it was idelibg very hard as it did when one went bad last week... what did I do wrong?? Is there a special sequence of pitting them in? What did I do wrong?

Pull the codes and see what it says. If it's the same cylinder as before, then one would have to look at the spark plug next, no?

Check your plugs for oil when you pull them. That would indicate a valve cover gasket leak.

Well I changed the plugs and coils the other day car runs great. I did happen to find a very very little oil on cylinder 3 plug but I'm not sure if that's from gasket or the fact that the spark plug wasn't even tight. I was able to put socket on it and turn by hand with no force. And that was the cylinder causing me issues. It's been a week now and have had no issues at all.

I thought some people would benefit to see what my plugs look like at 81400 miles. No issues before change, but buttery smooth especially at low end rpm after the change.
2008 535i N54. Bone stock. I believe 5 plugs were healthy worn, but one was somewhat puzzling rich in carbon deposit.
