More like Honda builds the engine it originally wanted instead of the Concept Zero that McLaren wanted and Toro Rosso fights for podiums.

    TBD
IIRC, Honda's actually been taking the assistance of Mario Illien (Ilmor) seriously. I have a feeling that the PU will become better. A large step has been made with the ERS - which was a huge problem previously in not being able to retrieve/store/use the electical energy necessary for a full lap - thus they had to tone down their ERS. Also fuel consumption but at the next release I believe they will have a pre-combustion chamber much like Merc and Ferrari. This should help with fuel burning and therefore consumption.

It's not just engines that make for podium challenges - the chassis has to be sorted too. Thus I don't think STR will be fighting for podiums next year - they may move higher up the midfield but I think podiums are a huge ask.
