Aux Input Install

I have found a lot of information about adding an AUX cable to my daughters 2005 330i and am about to order the cable with Aux plate.

My question is, with the typical cable/Aux plate setups that are available on Amazon and EBay, what is the best way to connect an iPhone 6S?

Does it connect through the phone round output or can I get a cable the has the Aux input and the iPhone 6S blade on the other end?

Also, if I use the iPhone 6S blade type cable, will it also charge the iPhone?


Any advice is greatly appreciated as I want to understand what capabilities she will have before I start ordering parts.

Buy the cable at the dealer. It's the best way to ensure it works properly.

I just installed this one yesterday. Works perfect. No it does not charge my phone. For $10 I don't care. There are some even cheaper but they ship from China and you have to wait 4 weeks to get it. This one shipped from California. I had it in a couple days.

Get a real BMW one. They're not expensive. They do not charge your phone.
