Seems risky to run never less than 20 psi from an 8374 on a stock block M54. Maybe on a built engine.
4094r is still a great choice on these engines, the gtx35r is also very impressive.
Any of the 6x66 precisions flow very well on the m5x series.
From everything ive been reading the efr turbos look to be very good but id hate to spend all that on a turbo and be on the hook for 650-700 dollars in bov and wastegate if you aren't happy and want to switch to a different turbo.
I would not want a turbo or manifold for which I could not regulate boost. That is why I changed from an 8374 EWG on a twinscroll manifold to an IWG EFR with EWG as well.
