    M3 coil springs...

So last night I managed to get my brake problems resolved and the car put back together. Went for a test drive and everything was mint for a few min then I started hearing a rear end suspension clunk going over moderate bumps from what seemed to be the left rear....so came back home and put the car away for the night as it was getting late. Figured since I was gonna change the oil today that I'll check out the rear end while I have the car back up again.

At first I was dreading the thought of a subframe mount failure....so I started there. Everything checked out and is ship shape. Started looking around at other things and something looked amiss about the left rear coil spring, so I focused on that. It didn't appear to be seated correctly in the sense that the wear marks on the upper pad looked different from the springs orientation. So I reached up and I'm able to almost freely move the spring by hand and rotate it around. I checked the right rear spring and it's tight as can be. I can't move it by hand at all at least.

Being I'm not too familiar with this car yet, I'm assuming that the ability to move the left rear spring around is probably bad, right?

Wow.....that seems stupidly easy to do.....now I'm at the crossroads of do I replace just the rear with OEM, or do I lower it? Replace shocks and struts or leave them since I know mine are good?

    Ugh.... decisions decisions......
