You have no tune right now? (it's almost necessary to see M50 manifold gains)
Ya, M50 manifold on S52 usually needs the larger maf (Porsche 993 "803" maf is a good option, or others, must be tuned for), because you are maxing it out already as is (if you were to run logs). Especially if combined with cams. Injectors can stay; most other tuners would have you get larger ones, but it won't make a power difference.
Hotter cams will need tuning if you want it to be good.

Hey, I understand this is an old post but I was wondering if you ever found out a solution for the ticking.
Usually the first step is an oil change with a little thicker oil (I use 0w40) and overfilling a bit, by maybe half a liter
I used to think these were ok to overfill slightly because of something with the oil pump mechanism but now I suspect it has to do with something causing inefficiencies with the oil returning to the sump. Maybe thats why the thinner when cold (0w) oil is better here, it has less viscosity so flows back to the sump quicker to be pumped back to the head?
I know - I've tried the flushes and additives and tried a few different oils at 5w30 and 5w40. I also had my VANOS unit rebuilt from Dr. Vanos. I guess after multiple searches and youtube videos I'm always hoping someone will update the post with "I replaced all of my lifters and its perfect now!"
I pulled the lifters out of a Bentley Non-Vanos M60 one time and I found that working them back and forth with my fingers and some brake fluid eventually got them freed up. Probably a lot easier to replace them, they just get gunked up over time with BMW's shitty recommended maintenance schedule.
You are due for a vanos rebuild anyway, might as well get that done while you're at it.
White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters.
I like Coupes.
Never personally seen them get bad enough to warrant needing replacing the lifters. If its actually a stuck lifter, usually just holding the revs at about 2500 for awhile (30 seconds, a minute... or progressively longer until it frees it up usually works...) will eventually settle it down. Makes me wonder if there is something else going on with your engine... a video would likely help
