Identify connectors between steering wheel and rack

    Hi!

I'm helping my nephew with his E46 -00. I'm trying to figure out how to connect the horn in the steering wheel to the steering rack. Since he switched the steering wheel, the two have different connectors. I would be really happy if someone could provide me with the schematics on the connectors!

    Cheers
    /Erik

I think you mean steering column.
What Wheel are you attempting to install?
    Looks like horn/Air bag connection.

It looks like the clock spring is missing? That is what connects the steering wheel electronics to the steering column.

That would explain alot! I was wondering how the cables would hold up when you turned the wheel!

    Thanks!

By the way. It seems to me that half of the clock spring (the back plate) is still in the column. Correct?

That is a clock spring, what about the one from the wheel you removed? Is it comparable with the 'new' wheel? What wheel are you attempting to install into which car - model and year?

What you see in the pictures is what we got. No clock spring to be found.

This is a picture on how the column look: https://ibb.co/bBkXfv

As I wrote earlier, it seems to me that only the back plate of the clock spring is mounted. But since I never worked on a modern BMW, I'm not sure...

Yes that is it. Not sure about the back of the old one. When you get the new one it should be clear.
