    Xtrons PB7646BAP heard unit question

    Hi all,

    Does anyone have this unit? I've chucked it in my m3 and the bottom doesn't seem to click in so that it sits flush. Their support are pretty average so I'm not finding much luck there.

    Has anyone else had this issue with this unit?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Common issues with low/poor quality chinese electronics and products are many and varied and poor physical fitment is part of them all. Nothing much you can do really with the unit. You could try asking the seller you purchased from to exchange for another unit and although they'll say 'yes it will fit fine' I wouldn't believe that until you tried it, plus you already know their 'support' is flaky at best. If they do exchange and you then find it also doesn't quite fit, you'll tear your hair out/Swear and then you'll perhaps regret buying poor quality products and wish you'd gone for higher quality instead.

    This is perhaps what you should have fitted;

    That's the Parrot Asteroid Smart head unit. Some more pics below;

    That's the Alpine iLX-700 (iLX-007 in the USA)

    Both units are shallow depth and fully featured. The Alpine is Apple Carplay only so *must* be connected to an iPhone to work. The next generation of Alpine unit's are due out soon and one unit, also shallow depth also has Android Auto so you aren't restricted to an iPhone only.

    Yes, both are more expensive than the poor quality unit you have now, so if you *must* keep that unit, then either leave as it is, or perhaps cut away at your dash pieces to push it in further?

    Cheers, Dennis!

    Thanks for all of that! I'm going to have another go at it this afternoon. The fitment isn't bad but I just need these clips to go in at the bottom. I'll respond here and let you know if I get it to go.

    Thank again.
