    Ista-p programming offline mode?

Hey guys can anyone give me some guidance here. Been trying to update DME on my e92 M3 w/winkfpt to no avail. Aside from our pc's we have a laptop at work with all the ista apps on it. The problem is when we program it is hooked to the network. I brought it home to try and flash the car but when you load ista p it gives an error that there is no connection to the server. Idk if the programming files are only on the server or are on the laptop as well. Is there a way to switch it to offline mode?

This is from a dealer right? Your programming files are on the server, so, no, you will not be able to run it offline.

Yeah that's what I thought. I would think there would be a way to download the files to the laptop. I see the ista/p laptops on eBay so there has to be a way to install the files on the laptop.

That ISTA P version is cracked and uses a loader to make it run correctly. I wouldn't do that to a work laptop if I were you.

Can't just do it at work after hours? Although if WinKFP can't do it, ISTA-P won't either. Unless there's a glaring problem with your WinKFP config.

I've been searching a lot on the subject and according to some winkfpt won't flash the DME or CAS on this car.

That only applies to the people who run into the D-CAN bug. That doesn't apply to the ICOM. There's something else going on in your case.

Idk man that's not what I've read but who knows. I guess I could try a different version of winkfpt. I know I had to edit that sgidc(think that's the name) file cause it was making an error on startup. It just doesn't make any sense.

That's not what you've read because most people online have no clue as to how any of the software actually works. With a non-bugged interface, WinKFP works fine for the MSS6x modules (and fact is that ISTA and WinKFP both are sending the same commands to the DME at the end of the day).

Can you copy/paste the data for the "$K MSS60" line in your SGIDC.as2 file?

Sure, it's on the laptop so I'll get it tomorrow. That wasn't one of the lines I had to edit though. And I did read on a forum that winkfpt won't flash those
Modules, think it was on m3post.

Well that string is correct, so WinKFP has the right security access keys.

What version of EDIABAS and WinKFP are you using?

5.1.0 and 6.4.7 iirc but also have standard tools w/winkfpt 5.1.6. Have ediabas 6.4.3 and 7.0 also.

Try standard tools 2.12 (comes with Ediabas 7.3 and WinKFP 5.3.1)

Found it, will install and try it tomorrow. I saw a thread on here where some got the same security error, except it was when trying to flash a CCC. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...e-an-ECU/page2
