Poor performance winter sottozero run flat tires

Purchased a set of wheels and Winter tires (Pirelli SOTTOZERO 245 50 18R MS) from the dealer for my first 3 year rental of X3 2011 Xdrive 2.8. This "kit" they called it was a showroom demo that had to be renewed (never been installed on a vehicle).

The vehicle had barely a few hundred km below 20,000km total (for 4 seasons) when I turned it in.Then I leased another X3 2015 model in 2014 and it is now at 26,000km. To my surprise, none of the Winter tires are good enough for another season???

Worth to mention, I am now 74 y.o., drive 90%under ECO mode. Living in a suburb, each time I use the véhicule is mostly autoroute type of driving.

To to my surprise, these Winter tires are now worn out after being used for only 17,000km over a period of 6 years!!! This is barely over 10,000 miles wow... something is wrong! I think I've been had somewhere, somehow!

Needless to say, I don't rush to arrive first at the first traffic light, I have no hitch and my heaviest load is mostly comprised of 2 persons.

Seems to me that these Winter tires wore out like crazy... and are NOT worth the price. Conversely, all 4Seasons tires are and were (when I returned the first X3) in excellent condition... barely worn.

I have now elected to switch to another German made SUV manufacturer and I swear that my new run flat Winter tires won't be Pirellis.

I purchased a set of wheels and Pirelli snow tires for my 2016 BMW X4 M 40i. These tires have been a life saver and worth the money. They cut through the snow and ice with ease. I've been able to get our and tackle the side streets and major roads without issue. I've also noticed they offer more stability. I have not experienced any slide, wheel spin or loss of control. Under heavy breaking I do experience a slight bit of wheel slip.
