    1993 850Ci - is this sound normal?

Ignition switch at position #2 (dashboard lights on, engine off). Triangulated between fuse box, + jump terminal, and "leaf tray" below the hood vents, I am hearing a clicking, about every two seconds. Is this normal? If so, what is it?

Sounds like it could be your heater valves, mine do the same thing.
