Hello,
My 2007 530i is giving me fault codes: 2AD0,2A94,51A7. The issues are long cranks before actually starting up and when it does start there is a Transmission fault drive moderately alert on the idrive screen..
The car does go into reverse and still drives normally even though it is "limp mode". I changed the crankshaft sensor but I'm still having the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank is advance,
frustrated e60 owner..
What do those codes mean?
I would suggest that you start with this thread for transmission issues.
Look at this thread for the crankshaft position sensor issues which includes the possibility of wiring issues in the last post.

Did you ever figure out what was going on? I have 2AD0 and 2A94 with the same symptoms you describe. I have a CPS on order. Hoping that resolves it. I was able to start the car, but got the error. Let it sit for a while, tried again and it worked fine - no error, fast start. Tried again a few hours later and it cranked a long time again before starting and the error was back.

Hello Bryan, no I haven't figured it out just yet.. I'm thinking perhaps it was the cheap eBay crankshaft sensor? How about you, any luck?
I'm replacing my crankshaft position sensor right now (using OEM part). Hopefully I'll be done with it tonight or tomorrow. If that doesn't work, the other thing I was thinking it could be is a leaky mechatronic sleeve on the transmission. Since I have to do a fluid change anyways, that was going to be my next step. I'll let you know how it goes.
I finally finished replacing the crankshaft position sensor last night. Took it for a spin and everything looks good now! Probably one of the toughest jobs I've done. Dealing with the wiring and CCV hoses on the intake manifold and was not fun. Definitely taking it in the next time I have to remove the intake manifold.
