    BMW production disruption, will it affect supply of 3 series in US?

    The news are saying BMW is encountering production disruption and stoppage at their plants in Germany, China and South Africa, due to a lack of steering parts for the 3 series. BMW is now demanding compensation from supplier Bosch over the parts shortage that caused their production stoppage:

    So far, I haven't heard how this will impact 3 series supply in the US. No impact...or not?

    Not sure. It has however affected a vehicle here at my shop. One of our loaner F30's has a damaged steering rack. It's been on backorder for over a month.

    The original release date was early May. Then they pushed it to nearly the end of May. I haven't seen it yet.
