I wonder what a 97 M73 23K perfect / mint condition, CSI kit, black on black will $$$ bring :-) Still smell new inside :-)

Bought my black on black '97 M73 car with CSi kit with 83k miles in 2010 for $20k. I'd imagine your car (one of only 363) has to be one of the lowest mileage M73 cars out there. On BaT I would think the car should break the $30k mark, maybe even $35k. If it was a rare color, I think the above numbers would be the baseline.

This guy is dreaming. Not gonna sell for that price. Not for another 5-10 years maybe. When CSi's sell for 150k plus, then 840's can go for that.

There is but one way to find out. I hope it brings lots, but I could be biased.

I was being facetious. The best ad ever written wouldn't get him 40% of his asking price.

Naahhh. Just curious what's worth. But I am not motivated to sale it. I still love this pristine fine machine.

I know this car and its owner very well actually. I've expressed my opinion about his pricing to him privately so I can't comment about it openly.

If it sells for even $100k less than that, I'll seriously need to increase my agreed insurance value.

im pretty sure thats a joke. there is no USA spec csi on earth worth even 6 digits let alone a 3 owner silver one for 230k. cherry hill is like the bell air of NJ so this guy has no clue about the value of money. if someone is unfortunate enough to get conned into paying more than 60-70k for this car there an absolute fool, not even alpina 5.7's are worth what hese asking. this car is worth closer to 23 k than 230 k, thats fact. this guy is a scammer for even asking that kind of money and its hacks like him that ruin the car trade, it still has the "dumbo ears" on it for christ sake. and im actually pulling for csi's to skyrocket cause my 6 speed shoots right up with it.

i know, im saying they should have been swapped out by now for the more desirable m sport ones. my point was its a us spec csi which had alot of things removed. the euro spec came with m sport mirrors, smoked turn lenses, engine oil cooler, floating brake rotors, and of course the ahk. while us spec got m door handles.

Thing is, keeping the US cars stock seems to preserve value though. While I agree that the euro mirrors and lenses are a nice upgrade, I understand why many do not do it. The US cars got more wood too... and at least one CSI came from the factory with BMW Individual handles...for whatever that's worth. But still, the top of the market cars are unmolested and carry the original equipment.

In my opinion, the US-CSi's should be worth the sams as the Euro one's. They're pretty much the same cars. Their "options" outweigh one another into equality; plus the US spec was made in much fewer numbers so that puts it straight head to head with The Euro one's in terms of value.

Tend to disagree ...... real csi is EU version (first version on the market), US version is a trimmed down version (no ahk, no brembo brakes, no sport seats, no extra oil coolers, no csi mirrors and smoked signal lenses) only extra is the wood trim (an option on the EU version).
Yes lower numbers but not as good (the lack of AHK and weaker brakes is very noticable, no extra oil coolers...... USA csi was never designed for performance).
But time will tell......I might be wrong.

Csi worth 23k? Where have you found these magical values? I would like to get 2. The car is worth around 100k with the low milage.

Sorry brother. I've driven both and they are EXACTLY the same. You make it sound as if Euro CSi was made to win Formula 1 while US CSi is a Chevy Sprint. A close friend of mine has a Euro CSi while I have the US-Spec myself so I drive them both often. The horse power and torque are the same. The AHK makes no difference unless you're on a race track (and how often do any of us do that?). Better breaks have nothing to do with better performance. They help you stop better not drive faster. The CSi mirrors are not part of the original design but rather a hyped up "after thought" for the CSi which came from M5 and M3 cars of the era. The smoked ftp's don't help the car go faster and don't think extra oil cooling is going to help the Euro CSi become a Le Mans champion either. In general, I've seen the US CSi's being better cared for than Euro one's. Many of them are in show room quality and have lower miles. In my opinion the wood trim makes the interior of the car look much more beautiful than the plastic trim; and it's very expensive mind you.
Overall, I love both versions and plan to own a Euro CSi one day too. They are magnificent cars, regardless of their tiny differences.

re read it, thats not what i wrote. i wrote its worth CLOSER to 23 than 230, to show just how crazy this guys price is, and at the end said 60-70k (which is still very high considering just a few years ago this car was 30k). you say its worth 100 so your actually agreeing with me, 100 is closer to 23 than 230.

clubE31 said it perfectly. my point was its a us spec which doesnt have ahk or floating rotors, the ahk is probally the sickest option for the e31 and a working one today is as rare as hens teeth. this car even if it was a euro csi with working ahk, wouldnt even be worth half of what hese asking, hese just trying to scam.

@ cartoonz. you know im a purist so if was lucky enough to own a us spec csi i would change ONLY the mirrors, and put on the 2-piece bbs style 5's if the car didnt already have them.

forgott it doesnt have the sports seats either, no adjustable knee or side bolsters.

    Well that was slightly awkward...

Time to converge back onto the topic of the thread. So how about those E31 values?
