CSi Front Bumper Middle Section Filler Trim

    Hi Guys,

There are several topics regarding Front License Plate Delete, but most of them seem to involve the Stock bumper not the CSi version.

I'm planning to install the CSi Front Bumper Cover without the license plate and that raises 2 questions:

    1) Should I only get part # 1,9,10,11,12,13 as pictured in the diagram below? Part # 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,14,15 seem to involve the license plate section.

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_2090

And this would be the result?

    2) What are the required pieces to cover the open area in middle section that is highlighted above? I've read pretty much all the threads regarding Front License Plate Delete and I still can't figure out the exact part number for that middle piece. All the versions that I've seen so far also slightly differ from one another, so I'm not sure if people have modified it themselves.

    Thank you

The filler is not an OEM part. What most people have is a copy of the Racing Dynamics version.

Your other choice, if going with the slats, is to use the U.S. version pieces. Sadly, the center slat is no longer available.

All the Euro Csi vanity plate pieces are still available last I checked, but quite expensive now.

    Thank you.

Do you happen to know the part numbers for the U.S. version pieces, even the one that is discontinued? is the center slat #4 on the diagram?

    No. 7 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_1992

No. 5 and no. 6 are the respective left and right pieces to complete the look.

I just came across this post from you and hopefully you can help me with one more question
    https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...+license+plate

What is the main difference between M-Technic License Plate Holder & the Euro License Plate Holder and why did you choose the Euro one?

The M-Technic version comes with a BMW badge cover (Part#15) listed here,
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_2090

but I don't see any cover listed for the Euro Plate (Part#1)
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_1992

Can you share a picture of your car with the Euro Plate installed? I'm wondering how it compares to the M-Technic version.

    Thanks!

Unlike the 20 or so states in the US that don't require a front license plate, a front license plate is mandatory across Europe and Australasia, etc - so having the 'BMW' embossed cover would be a pointless exercise in those countries.

Apparently, the standard black plastic euro plate (which is far less expensive) can be used with the M tech/CSI bumper even though it is intended for use with the vanilla bumper.

The BMW vanity plate must be purchased separate from the plate holder. Both come in primer and are meant to be painted body color along with the two side covers previously mentioned.

I used the M tech/CSI plate holder and vanity plate. I'll upload a photo.

Thank you kiwiCSi & toomanyparts. The closeup pictures really help a lot.

Here's what I'm noticing in comparing the 2 options:

    - The Standard Euro Plate Holder on "kiwiCSi" car has a slimmer profile and because of this it sits flush with the bumper whereas the M-Tech Plate Holder on "toomanyparts" car is bulkier and therefore it sticks out more

That leaves me with 2 questions

    1) Can the BMW Front Plate Filler (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...g/51112259824/) be mounted on the Standard Euro Plate Holder(https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51111940739/)? The 4 holes on the Euro Plate Holder are smaller than the 4 rectangular holes on the M-Tech Plate holder pictured here (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51112252017/) but they appear to be in the same exact location, so it looks like with some slight modification this might work.

    2) To mount the Standard Euro Plate Holder on the CSi front bumper requires the following M-Technic left & right coverings, correct? "kiwiCSi" can probably answer this

If you are going to use the CSi front spoiler, you will need the m-tech front plate along with the two side pieces specifically made for the CSi. I have both front euro plate holders, and they are different and the regular one IS different from the mtech version. The mtech version has to fit over the fatter top edge of the M Tech spoiler whereas the regular version fits the Slimmer non CSI front lower spoiler.

Regarding the racing Dynamics front filler piece, the picture of the red car is my old CSI and I put that piece on. Rumor has it that you cannot find them anymore. If you can I would love to find out where that you can get one.

The m-tech side coverings are only used with the m-tech plate holder, they don't fit with the normal euro plate holder. Euro plate holder only works with the covering slats. You can see it in this picture, parts 2 and 3, the coverings won't fit other way.

However, you can fit the standard euro plate holder with the Csi bumber. It isn't perfect match but good enough to make it look nice. Actually i think that it looks better with euro plate holder than with Csi plate holder, but that just me. See for yourself.

    Probably a file.

Just so we are on the same page - I used the M tech plate holder, so it is the same as Kiwi's CSI.

Nothing really. Just some minor modification to the back side of the euro plate holder to make it sit deep enough.
