    The new M8 is officially being tested.

    As for the new 8-series going into production, there's no doubt about it at this point but for the first time ever, there will also be an M8 available for sale as well. No longer will just a one-off lonely and bunkered M8 prototype be in existance. ?

    The M8 is being track tested this weekend in Germany.

    Unfortunately the "M" status on the new BMWs is not the same as the original M cars. That stopped when they quit building the M5 by hand.

    It stopped when they started rehashing N series engines and used the M535i as an excuse to put M badges on everything.

    E30 M3s (non cabrio) and the M6 weren't hand built either, but at least somebody had fun torquing down a window reg.

    Looking good! Looks like the chassis is going to be used for the LeMans race. To me, that means the chassis should prove very competitive.
