So its been some time since I updated this thread because I've been working one another project but I'm now back on this one full time again. so last I said i couldn't figure out the wiring harness so i sent it off to a local shop here in Austin to do that part for me. It now runs and drives so i opted to start the paint and body aspect of the build so i started with the interior pulled everything out and began to clean it the carpet was nasty i mean this thing was sitting in a field when i found it. I ordered carpet dye and shampooed the thing for hours until it was just clear water coming back out. then prepped it too dye dark grey. it ended up coming out great the color was consistent through out all of it and it complements the black interior much better then the light factory grey it originally was. Then the plan was to have a local interior specialist repair the seats and to just reuse all the old parts but while i was searching for some exterior pieces I came across a company in Denmark that sells used BMW parts. They had a complete m5 interior door panels front and rear seats pretty much everything i would need for the inside of my car. i quickly snatched it up and couldn't wait to have it in my hands. Everythingshowed up in only 3 days i quickly went to work to start installing everything and i still cant believe how much better ti all looks compared to when i bought it.

Did you find a factory OEM way to move the battery? Did you find OEM mount points and stuff under your seat and just use OEM cables from wreckers or is it all custom?
As I've mention earlier I've got an older car with my battery in the engine bay so I need to relocate before even thinking about a turbo (right now I'm thinking if I can't get a m54b30 for a stroker I might go turbo b25 instead). Under my seat is just foam and I'm trying to piece together if there's a tray, what kind of brackets, where the brackets bolt to, venting, cable run etc

no its all custom but the space is there for the battery the one i have in there currently is from my skyline so I'm going to go get a small battery from battery's plus to get a better fit. but the install is all pretty straight forward just running the cable through the firewall was a pain.
What'd you use for carpet dye?

I bought black but it looks dark grey I don't think there is a good solution to dye it black.

I would tend to agree. The P.O. of my car used some very expensive stuff, brand name escaping me, and proper prep - but starting with light grey is perhaps always going to prevent a truly black result. I gave up on it and will be installing an M5 dark grey carpet that came in black interior cars.
Ya but im still very happy with the way it turned out it looks and feels brand new now and it compliments the interoir very well and it only cost me $54 bucks so I cant complain.
this weekend i hope to have the exterior ready for paint so i can start to button up this project finally i just cant wait to drive this thing for the first time.

Which transmission and driveshaft did you use?
I got the transmission from the m3 donor car so i believe its the zf transmission and the drive shaft is the one that came with the car it bolted right up.

ya i plan on getting a set of floor mats and making them the same color.
I spent about that on many (many) boxes of the cheapest, nastiest permanent black hair dye I could find (Revlon). It worked better than some more expensive (but still permanent, level 3) dye, and turned tan carpets a shade of pretty dark brown. I've yet to find a solution for proper black. Someone with access to a chem supplier might try straight para-phenylenediamine (what makes black hair dye black) and go from there...?
ill definately follow this project, looks very good!
20180615_125839.jpg20180706_171250.jpg built in subs to the rear deck i still need to build the box under them.
interior i ordered from Denmark.

$750 and you get some cool ac schitnzer stuff? Not bad at all. I bought a $400 m20 car, and it has a Zender rear bumper and some weird aftermarket heckblende. I might have to copy your build sometime down the road lol. Can’t wait to see this one wrapped up.
This build is cool. Keep it up! The small rpunded conector you posted, I think it is from the MAF sensor that the s52 has. Your m20 doesnt have one but it has a AFM which works different. If not, it may be from the O2 sensor. They both have the same rounded shaped connection.
As for how to plug both rounded big connectors, maybe some guys from the e30 subforum can help you better.
