    Windshield Replacement.

I am having my windshield replaced by Safelite. It will be a OEM windshield. Is there anything that I should pay attention to ?Is the rain sensor easily removed? Are there shims under the glass?
    Thanks.

The only thing I would say is too ask safelite to send a tech who has done bmw windshields. I did for both of mine. They get special training for that. I remove my a pillars before they arrive, and reinstall myself.

Ditto, I went even further, I removed the windshield wipers and cowl and gave them the OEM spacers for the windshield....Talk about an easy job for them, lol

To remove the rainsensor get some fishing wire and zig zag it off
I had to that to transfer my old rainsensor to the RF windshield

But it won't be the genuine BMW Securit glass. When I had my 300ZX windshield done by them, I was told that it's unlikely that glass is made anymore and 3rd party would be used. I saved this doc for when I get my glass replaced. The best thing you can do in my opinion is call like one or two BMW dealers in your area and ask them who they use for glass replacement.
