    1995 BMW M3 Turbo

I figured I would start a thread about my first turbo M3

Really quick background on myself. I've always loved cars. Started with old Chevy pickups then 3rd gen Camaros and my first import was a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (also my first turbo car). I loved the car allot, but at the same time my friend in college wrecked his Cougar and wanted something new and fast. He ended up picking up an e36 328is from Dallas. I drove it and knew I wanted a Bimmer as well. Traded the VR4 for a 325is for my first BMW. Traded and bought several other BMWs and then a couple years later bought my first ever M3 with high miles. It was a 95 and I loved it. I regrettably sold it and have been trying to find another one that was as healthy as that. After 5 years of owning e36s and several M3s, I drove a local turbo e36 M3 that was for sale and knew I had to have one. I wanted to build my 95 M3 into a turbo car, but it made sense with my limited funds to try to buy one already done and sell the one I was driving every day. I found one pretty close and it sounded like most of the hard work was done and just needed some tiding up.

    1995 BMW M3

    Built motor
    MLS headgasket
    ARP head studs
    S52 crank
    Eagle rods
    S52 pistons
    Baffled oil pan
    UUC underdrive pulleys
    NO AC
    Shrick cams
    BBTB
    Bavarian coils
    Koyo radiator

    5 speed trans
FX stage 3 flywheel and clutch kit
    Short throw shifter
UUC blue trans mounts with cups

    OBX top mount turbo manifold
    Precision 6266 turbo
    3" downpipe and exhaust
    eBay intercooler and piping
    Synopsis blow off valve
Tial waste gate dumped into the atmosphere
    Miller WAR chip tuning
    60lb injectors
Blow through maf (unsure of brand)

    Ground Control coil overs
    Bride racing seats
    eBay boost gauge
    Aem wideband
    Custom 3.46 lsd diff
    Drilled and slotted rotors
    Wheel stud conversion

That's how I bought the car. It was also on some TSW wheels and drag slicks, so I promptly put something more streetable on when I got it home. It is running on a street 93 pump tune, but is set up for e85 once it's tuned. I love the car, but now I'm trying to clean up allot of the stuff that was done half way. The car pulls good, but flutters and sometimes dies when you put the clutch in. It's running on wastegate pressure which I believe is 10lbs but the gauge doesn't really work like it should. First thing I bought and installed was a Zeitronics wideband and data logger. I then found a decent deal on a 2.93 lsd diff so I bought that and installed it. It made a big difference and the car is defiantly a highway car now. I'm going to be stripping the interior out because it was missing allot anyways. The sunroof leaks, so I ordered a delete panel. Excited to tackle that project.

I need to get the car tuned. anyone have recommendations? I'm not sure if I should go up to 80lb or 100lb injectors and see what the car can do on e85 or get everything lined out on 93 and the 60lb injectors and 10lb boost and then slowly turn it up? The car needs some gathering up so I'm not really sure what should be worked on next

I do not have any pictures to upload at the moment, but I will take some tonight after work

ordered a carbon fiber sunroof delete panel to fix the leaking sunroof problem

also ordered a roll bar. looks decent, but we will see how it fits.

will be removing the carpet, door cards, back seat etc most everything but the dash

if anyone needs any of those interior parts let me know! I'll sell them cheap and will ship

    Update:

received the carbon fiber delete panel. do you just bolt it in or do you need to seal it with something in the seems?

anyone have any experience to pass along?

I read through that thread. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I tried to find it, but had no luck.

no progress on the car over the weekend, but hopefully soon!

changed the wheel setup on the car. I think I may need to raise the car some or roll the fenders some more

I could use the door speakers, door panel inserts
i think shipping the whole door panels would not be cost effective.

It's running alright, still working out some bugs and trying to chase down an oil leak but overall I'm very happy with it

pm me and we can work something out on the parts. I'm actually in the process of stripping the interior and running out of places to put things

You should reroute your oil feed so your not preheating it.

Should it be turned 180 degrees and not touch the exhaust at all?

Yeah it's looks like there's also an exhaust leak pointed right at it. Don't want you to melt the feed line. It's probably routed like that due to hood clearance. Move that extra loop to the compressor side of the turbo and it'll be happier.
