    New M3 owner

I officially have taken taken that leap and claimed possession of my $800 2003 Titan Silver M3 6MT last Friday. I'm in love.

209K, runs great drives great, brakes need work and M wheels need some new rubber.... some little things here and there....but impressively clean.

The OEM Stagered 18 M Sport wheels

    Also pictured....the lonely rust spot....

Those who spend time in the E46 subforum probably have seen this and also know the back story on it.

For 800 bucks, you can strip the car down and make 6 times what you paid for the car!

Who's (handle) car was it befores if you don't mind me asking?

I like the gray interiors on those cars.

This was a car I stumbled accross a few cities over, to my knowledge the PO was never on these forum's, let alone even aware of them even perhaps.

They grey is growing on me a lil bit....but I've always been and will forever be a huge fan of black interior. I've thought about converting the M3 to black....but money needs to go to more important things right now lol.

To me the grey just looks kinda bland....I suppose in my head there's just no contrast, and I love contrast

Well on a gray car, gray interior isn't much of a contrast, but on red it is.

Once you let that car sit in the sun, the gray will not burn your legs when you get in like a black leather seat will.

As for the bearings, they are a known problem with the S-54. What I would do is get the oil analyzed to see how much copper is floating around in there, as a general rule of thumb, it is recommended at 150k miles on original rod bearings on that car.

So maybe I didn't Dodge that bullet lol. My other two bimmers have the black interior, after many 3rd degree burns getting in those two cars....I guess I'm immune to the burning lol.

I'm not always the cleanest dressed either at times so the added hiding ability of black is always a bonus for me too lol

Come winter time you will love the heated seats, on my winter beater it doesn't have any.

Are those 17' throwing stars on the car in the pictures? While I have heard you could put 17' rims on the M3, I haven't bothered to check to see if it's true or not. Also the CSL brakes have to have 18' rims, otherwise it won't clear.

Yep, those are 17" throwing stars on it on the picture. If I had to guess (I didn't pay too much attention) they clear really well on this car. They're the PO's winter wheels, so there's brand new snow shoes on then that I'm not sure what to do with yet. My E39 is my everyday drive anywhere beater car, so was thinking about keeping them for that car if the hub bores were the same.

This M3 I'm pretty sure has seen it's last winter.

Yeah, she's got some rust on that rear panel, and I am sure there will be some underneath as well.

I have a winter beater to run in the snow, and it does okay, but I think I may have 1 or 2 winter left as it is get really rusty. Here we have an inspection, so getting it to pass is getting harder every year.

Actually the underside of my 3 is spotless amazingly enough.....only rust I have on that quarter panel.

You could eat off the bottom side of this car lol
