Also, good luck, i've never heard of anybody in the states to retro it, need specialized equipment to calibrate it.

there's a member with a decked out silver on grey 750i on style 89s who retrofitted it. i believe he's from iceland

Edwin from Netherland ("homerraas" on youtube) used to have a video posted that showed an e38 with it and he demonstrated it while driving around.
The video also answers the oft asked question as to what the icon of the two cars following each other (next to the traction control warning light) is:
