My 99 740 turns on the drivers visor light every time I lower the visor? day or night. If I raise it slightly the light goes out. Short of removing the bulbs, do I need another visor? Or it's telling me I have too much "vanity"?

It is only supposed to turn it on if you open the mirror shade.
Does it turn off if you close the mirror? If not, you might indeed need a new visor in order to get a new switch in there.

Ditto...do you leave the cover open? If yes, try closing the mirror's cover...if you can.

Mirror cover is closed all the time.

If readjusting the cover (play around with a bit) doesn't shut the light off...then something may have happened to the mechanisms that trigger the light to come on when the cover is shoved open (perhaps it wore out from repeated openings
