Not BMW but I know there are a few owners/appreciators here.
This is is a very nice example I saw this weekend.

Imagine that Fiat Multiplas with 5 or 6 adults on board, and only 600cc (0.6 litre) to propel them...
My 59 Fiat 600 was strained with a coupla high school kids in it,28hp, my current bike has twice the cc's,K1200rs.
Took this photo just last Friday. Apparently Lurch drives a big Healey.
BTW, this thing was pristine, with the classic red/white 2-tone and knockoffs. Guy cruised up the freeway at 75 too, despite the obvious wind in the hair effect from being just a tad too tall :-)

That's a two-seater like mine (most were 2+2) but it's a 3000 MKI, whereas the 100/6 (like mine) only has the one Austin-Healey badge on the trunk. The Healey in MRFAST's post is a very early 3000 MKIII with rollup windows, that within months would be adorned with separate amber turn signals instead of the combined turn/park lights of that one.
Now you know as much about Healeys as I do...
Yeah, but what's strange is that it had a '56 " Year Of Manufacture" plate on it (a cool thing CA allows for old cars), which means that the DMV thinks it is a '56. So maybe it's actually a 100-6 with a 3000 trunk lid. Which would be weird for a car that's clearly been restored.

I drew my idea of a beautiful sport car when I was 15, a blend of a 'Vette with a bit of Healey.

The Z3 is the only car since then that has fulfilled that idea for me.

Standard-issue only in California comment: still doesn't compute; the 2-seater was a mid '58 release. My own Healey, California titled as a '57 since before I bought it in San Francisco circa 1978, was actually built May 14th-15th, 1958. Of course I didn't find this out until 6-1/2 years after I bought it, so anything's possible__in California!
Like Randy's, mine was built in June 1959 and sold in San Francisco as a leftover in 1960 and was registered as a 1960. Things were a little more loose back then.

Had a few Healey's here in New Zealand left to right
1963 BJ7 rumoured to be the 63 Earls Court showcar bought off the stand driven around Europe and back to NZ 1964
1962 BN7 Yes I know big mistake letting this go.....ask me about the Dr Fred Losee 100S that slipped thru my fingers....
And the black BJ8 sent here new for a USA Navy guy involved with the Antarctic program run out of Christchurch back in the 1960's. The car stayed behind when he went home, one of those rumours, it took a lot of persistence to track in down in the late seventies, only 20k miles up.
Always preferred driving a Healey with the hardtop in place seemed to respond to the point and squirt a lot better. Of course Koni's at four corners were a big help too.
Hope the pix are OK they come, like the writer from another era (analogue)

Sometimes it has bumpers
Sometimes it doesn't
In the next couple years, I'll get to my old tri-carb languishing in the garage. I daily drove it for about 7 years after moving to Florida. Toward the end, I had to run nitro70 (straight 70 weight) oil in it to maintain 18-20 lbs hot oil pressure. It never complained.

My cousin let me drive his 1967 3000 Mk III. That lead me to buy my M Roadster. I really don't fit in a Healey at 6'1", so a Healy was out of the question.
