Hello,
i have been having this issue for awhile now. The check engine light comes and goes. I finally got the code checked out and it gave me a P0015. My issue is what is the cause of this code and I also get a very loud whistling sound when the check engine light comes on ( sometimes I get the sound without the check engine light ), it sounds like air flowing. The sound only comes when the car is idel, but when I press on the gas the sounds goes away but when I stop it comes back on. When I turn the car off and back on the sound goes away, but after awhile it comes back on. The sound sdoesnt alwyas come on so my main concern is what is that sound and what's causing the sound to come on please help me! Thank you!
Hello and welcome to the forum! P0015 codes refers to the - "B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1). The possible causes are:
Incorrect camshaft timing
Wiring problems (harness/wiring) in intake timing control valve control solenoid system
Continuous oil flow to VCT piston chamber
Failed timing valve control solenoid (stuck open)

What about the loud sound what is the cause of that?
Do you have a video of the noise? It's pretty hard to troubleshoot based on the description "Very loud whistling". It could be secondary air pump which comes on for about 30 seconds when the car is started and the engine is cold. It could be an air leak etc etc etc...
Have you cleared the code to see if it comes back?

Does it sound like a loud whistle ?
It's impossible to accurately diagnose a car without working in it but I'll give my input. I've had a few BMWs with timing codes come in because they had the wrong oil. Ive had a bunch come in too with a whistling that turned out to be bad pcv system (part of the valve cover on these) Would take the oil cap off and check the pressure should be sucking your hand in slightly. If the oil cap is hard to remove because of the vacuum you got a problem. Those are some quick simple things you can check yourself.
