My 2008 328i e93 has been losing the radio setting and clock. The battery is most likely weak. I understand a weak battery will cause all kinds of havoc with our cars. My question is, will a weak battery cause the A/C compressor to not pull in? I'm only getting warm or hot air when driving and the system on. All these things started about the same time, so Im guessing the low volt battery can mess with the AC too, or am I wayyy off base?
Thanks in advance
Your instincts are good. Is it the original battery? White battery or black battery?
I don't think the battery will affect the AC, but anything is possible. What's more likely is that the Freon is leaking out of the evaporator. Super common on E9x vehicles.

The battery was replaced approx. 2 years ago by the non-BMW dealer I purchased the car from. I couldn't verify at that time if it was a new battery, they said it was, but most likely not. I had the battery replaced yesterday after two independent shops tested the battery and computer printout showing it was below the rated CCA and the battery voltage was only at 12.3 volts with the car off.
The alternator was also checked and found in good condition. The battery was registered and computer reset to accept the new battery.
Need to check the AC now, for the leak suggested above. Thanks again for your comments.
I wonder if the battery that was replaced 2 years ago was properly registered. Was the battery white or black? Is the new one white or black?
