    2001 X5 - Any Economical Bluetooth Options?

Wanted to get music from my iphone to be played through the X5 speakers (wired or wireless), and since these old models didn't have an Aux Input, so wanted to check what are my best DIY options that are not too expensive or do I have to rely on FM Transmitter devices (of which I'm not a very great fan of). This might have been discussed before but I couldn't find any through the Search function in this forum.

    Appreciate all your help !

Its going to depend mostly on whether or not you have DSP. Mine does and there is no easy solution for upgrading the audio at all. I have a 2001 X5 sport with factory nav. Your first step is going to be checking to see if you have DSP or not. If you do, it's brutal to get around

Recommend installing an Aux plug and using a plug in Bluetooth receiver. That worked on my 2003

I tried installing an aux cable, not an option with DSP

I'm no expert, but I have DSP and ordered an oem Aux cable that plugged into back of MID. It works, but maybe different for 01.

It must be different. I bought the aux cable from the dealership. Maybe its just the nav deck? Mine doesn't have the CD changer plug on the back
