2006 530xiT - My trunk fuse F50 does not seem to have any affect when pulled and the car is started, if this were the fuel pump fuse the engine would eventually die. In the glove box I only have one relay toward the right side, the left hand relay is nonexistent. I pulled the right one just for the heck of it but the motor ran fine. Someone posted a fuse diagram saying fuse F30 in the glovebox was the fuel pump, unfortunately this slot is empty in my fuse box. I have also read something about an EKPS controlling the fuel pump but I'm not sure its a great idea to just unplug this and start the car.
Basically I need a safe way to disable the fuel pump (and the DME?) so I can begin my compression test. Any advice is appreciated.
Pull upward on the front of the rear seat. Pull back the rubber /tarpaper square flap, right side of car. Undo the 3 10mm nuts, lift cover. Unplug the black plastic plug, by inserting a flat blade screwdriver and prying the sliding piece away, which will raise the plug. This last part requires experience, so be careful not to break anything.

Awesome, thanks very much!
Is it necessary to disable the DME also? Where is the DME relay located?
No disabling the DME, all you need to do is stop the fuel delivery. Unplugging the fuel pump does that, without messing with the computers.

Thanks again, massive help!
Can I do the same with e39? I'd rather not mess with the computer either. thanks.
Sure, or just remove the fuel pump fuse....on an E39 this will do just fine. The E60 has a fuel pump control module, I think, so I was just working around that. The E39 is easy. However, the exact same solution of pulling the seat and the plug for the fuel pump will work just fine, too.
