    Mudflaps?

    Hello All,
Yesterday I picked up my new to me 2014 435xi, in red with M-sport package. It had an incredibly low 6200 miles and cost a bit less than I would have paid for a new Golf R. I have a mile of dirt before I hit tarmac, which is often muddy, icey, etc. I have looked around at various mudflap options, but there doesn't seem to be much out there. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Ward

Thanks for the info. I emailed them this AM, and unfortunately, they actually don't have anything custom fit for the 435. I called the BMW dealers and they couldn't help me as well. More ideas?

If you can't find mudflaps, you may be able to protect the area behind the wheels by having the clear bra material installed where you want the paint protected.

That is a good idea, but a large part of my concern is keeping mud off the side of the car. Mud flaps with that.

US BMW dealers are notorious for not wanting to bother, or go outside normal channels for European only parts. Have you plugged your VIN into realoem.com, drilled down to the Accessories area and looked to see if there's a part# there for them? Many dealers (Tischer and others) will order Euro parts if you have the #.

OK, I just checked it out and nada! There are dozens of options for 3 and 5 series, just not the 4. Is there any shance the the body profile is similar enough that I could easily adapt either of the other platform specifics to my car?

    Thanks,

I found those, the ones they say are car specific are actually universal sedan/coupe fit, and the shipping was over $30! I am amazed that there is nothing out there. Does anyone know if the fender profile is similar to either the 3 or 5 series?

    Thanks,

Official BMW F30 accessory mud flaps - installed on my 435iX Gran Coupé. So technically F36. ;-)
MSport with stock THP, M Adaptive suspension. Original 19” 442M wheels, fitted with spacers and Michelin Pilot Sport 4Ss.

Had to try it. I’ve only done my rears. The only mods for their installation were three new holes in each flap, to match up with the different locations of the OE fasteners on my 4-series. Fit is pretty great otherwise, IMO.

I’m not planning to do the fronts, but my test fitting shows additional cutting on each flap would also be necessary. But the fit to the body surface looks okay.

Hope this helps any other 4-series owners looking for some flaps.

    Tom

Just for the record, I had BMW mud flaps on my previous E46, and they kept the mud off of about 4 inches of paint directly behind the flap. Outside of that, they were useless.
