2003 Z4 3.0 Top stuck down

Hi all,

Have read all of the posts regarding the top motor. At the end of last year motor failed and I manually lowered top. I was unable to manually raise after lowering. I pulled the tab in the trunk, etc, etc, etc. I tarped/stored the car for the winter and am at it again. I believe I have tried all of the tricks to get this top up. I believe I have to releae the hydraulic pressure in order to raise, but since the tab in the trunk doesn't' seem to do it, I believe I need to access the motor.

My question is, can the motor be accessed without having to remove the top?

Should have said that my goal is to manually release pressure at pump.
