    Idler pully

    '98 e39 M62...
So my serpentine belt went. I thought it was normal wear and tear on the Belt after all it had lasted almost eight years to the day. Upon further inspection, The Idler pulley broke. The bolt is intact but the wheel is gone. Is it just a simple matter of replacing the wheel (pulley?) or, should I be looking for something else? [this is the first time this has happened so this particular DIY is new to me] I will be replacing both belts as well.
Also, any diagrams I've looked at are unclear to me whether I'm missing a washer or not, so please advise [see attached pics below]
    TIA!

Thanks for this. I only need the tensioner wheel [the one that takes a fillister bolt--included above in pics...]
Does that come by itself, does anybody have a good one they want to part with?

I'm about to change the belt and pulley on my car too, most idler pulley you break right to break it loose, is this the same, or you loosen it like a normal screw?

Nah. Ended up getting a new assembly [the two pulleys] As this is a first time diy on this, I'm hoping the tensioner is good... Is this indicative of a bad tensioner[s]?

Why didn't you purchase the whole belt drive tensioner assembly from my link?
Piecemeal parts replacement usually leads to more work, costs later.
If one part/section of an assembly is worn due to age/mileage, the remainder can't be far behind.
Besides the whole assembly would have had a lifetime warranty from FCP.

My decision but thanks for your input. I have my reasons. No worries.
